Lee-Ann Curren
Chafing at the confines and clichés of the surfing world in which she grew up, Lee-Ann Curren (whose family is modern surfing royalty) has created her own world. It is a world she takes along with her as she travels and it’s one made of personal rhythms and harmonies, nature and poetry.
The Earth is at once her playground and muse: Curren is constantly in search of sensations and sounds. While the Basque country remains her home - she knows the cadence of the waves on countless local beaches – this global artist-surfer-musician intuits wavelengths oceanic and otherwise in ways as potent and profound as the beating of the heart.
